Get ready for the ride of your life.  What would you do if someone kidnapped your kids and to get them back, you would effectively be ruining your career, your marriage and your life.  Who can you trust when every time you turn around, nothing is as it once seemed?

Judge Scott Sampson has a pretty good life - married to Alison, who he's been with for 25 years and in love with his six-year-old twins, he really couldn't ask for more. On his usual day to pick up the kids, he gets a text from his wife saying she'll pick them up instead. He gets home and finds his wife there, without the kids... and she's saying she never sent him a text. With the ring of the telephone, their nightmare begins. He must do exactly as he's told and SAY NOTHING to anyone or his kids get hurt. Soon everyone becomes a suspect as long buried insecurities rise to the surface. How far would you go to protect your children when you can't seem to trust anyone around you - even your wife?

Holy gut puncher! I picked this book up yesterday and never put it back down. Brad Parks reels you right in from the very first chapter and never lets up. This book is a mix of a domestic, legal and psychological thriller and comes together in a seamless transition. I didn't realize how invested I was in the characters until I heard myself gasping out loud (my eyes may have even leaked at one point - shhh). Action packed and emotionally charged, this book will keep you turning those pages. Also, Mr. Parks, nice nod to Carter Ross ;). I highly recommend this thriller but be sure to slot out some time as once you get started, you're not going to want to stop.

Big thank you to Dutton Books for an advanced copy in return for my honest review.
