Recipe: Brown Sauce for Stir Fry

Brown Sauce for Stir Fry!

Sometimes I get a big craving for Chinese food but don't feel like paying exorbitant prices to get some delivered.  So I looked up a recipe and then tweaked it with what I had and to my taste.  I was surprised at how many inquiries I was getting in my DMs for the recipe so here it is for anyone to use!

Yes, I know I accidentally typed story fry instead of stir fry. 🤣

Ingredients - and you just whisk these all together!

3 tbsp reduced sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp rice wine vinegar
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp freshly grated ginger or ginger powder
2 cloves garlic, mixed (or 1 1/2 tsp minced garlic)
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp cornstarch
1tsp crushed red pepper or sriracha if you like spicy - can be omitted

I would also add the oyster sauce by tsps first and taste test to see if it gets too salty.  If it does, just add more brown sugar.  Or use hoisin sauce instead of oyster.

You can then add this to any meat or veggie stir fry!

I used shrimp and broccoli because that's what I was craving.  Add a little oil to a pan, cook the shrimp 2-3 minutes until it's pink, add the broccoli for 2-3 minutes until wilted and then add the sauce... also for 2-3 minutes stirring until fully mixed in and coating everything. Then serve it up and stuff your face!

If you try this, please let me know how it comes out.  Happy Eating!
