BLOG TOUR & REVIEW: The Eyes of the Accused by Mark Tilbury @MTilburyAuthor @Bloodhoundbook

Excited to be the today's Blog Tour Stop for The Eyes of the Accused by Mark Tilbury!

You may remember my tour stop for the first book in this series, The Revelation Room.  Need a refresher?  Click HERE.

Continue scrolling down for the Book Description, Author Bio and my review.  Happy reading!

Fresh from the horrors of their last case, private investigators Ben and Maddie are plunged into a disturbing world of terror as they search for missing pregnant girl, Hannah Heath.
Drawn to Frank Crowley, a suspect in Hannah’s disappearance, Maddie is about to come face to face with true evil. As she gets close to Crowley, Maddie will learn all is not what it seems.
Crowley is just a small part of something much larger. Something so terrible and deranged, it defies reason.
When Maddie disappears, Ben is left in a desperate race against time to find her and uncover the truth.
But can Ben and Maddie both survive this time?

My Review:

Book 2 in the Ben Whittle Investigations series, we are only a few weeks past where The Revelation Room leaves off.  Ben is working with his Dad, who is still recovering from his abduction and a surly sort because of it, and with Maddie in their Investigation office.  This time they are on the case of a pregnant girl gone missing.

Once again, the author puts you in the mind of every side of the multi-dimensional coin.  POVs from Ben again, the girl in question and the dark, dark mind of the antagonist keeps you turning page after page.  Crowley and his family are quite the interesting family.  And weirdly, Mr. Tilbury makes you empathize with the ones you should be hating.  We also get to see Ben and Maddie's relationship grow since book one.  Keeping Maddie strong and independent, the perfect other half to Ben's introverted and self conscious character.  Building upon their strengths, they manage to get in quite the predicaments to do their jobs.  The author leads you in one direction just to make a sharp left and go in another.  He certainly keeps you on your toes as you're reading.  Interlacing dark humor with these twisted minds, keeps the book from going too far.  The comic relief is welcome.

I would suggest that you read The Revelation Room before entering into this story as the first book is referenced quite a bit.  Could it work as a stand alone?  Sure, but it would be smoother with the knowledge of the first book.  Either way, you should definitely get some Mark Tilbury in your life.

Author Bio:

Mark lives in a small village in the lovely county of Cumbria, although his books are set in Oxfordshire where he was born and raised.

After serving in the Royal Navy and raising his two daughters after being widowed, Mark finally took the plunge and self-published two books on Amazon, The Revelation Room and The Eyes of the Accused.

He's always had a keen interest in writing, and is extremely proud to have his third novel, The Abattoir of Dreams, published, and The Revelation Room and The Eyes of the Accused re-launched, by Bloodhound Books.

When he's not writing, Mark can be found trying and failing to master blues guitar,
and taking walks around the beautiful county of Cumbria.
