You probably know someone like Shay Miller.
She wants to find love, but it eludes her.
She wants to be fulfilled, but her job is a dead end.
She wants to belong, but her life is so isolated.

You probably don't know anyone like the Moore sisters.
They have an unbreakable circle of friends.
They live the most glamorous life.
They always get what they desire.

Shay thinks she wants their life.
But what they really want is hers.

My Review:

It's no secret that Hendricks and Pekkanen know how to entertain.  This is their third book as a writing team and once again we get a fast paced, twisty ride.

Shay is a bit at rock bottom at the moment.  She's getting kicked out of her apartment, she's in between jobs, doesn't have much friends and just witnessed a suicide by subway.  (As a New Yorker, I hope I never ever have to witness this - but I am scared of being pushed in front of one - eep!)  As she somehow finds a kinship with the deceased, Amanda, her actions catch the eyes of Amanda's friends and puts her in a situation she could have never seen coming.

Now, while I did find this read entertaining in true Pekkanen and Hendricks style, this one missed the mark just a bit for me.  A thousand coincidences looked over by a protagonist who is into statistics and numbers?  Erm….. does not computer.  Regardless, this is still a fun read.  Suspend some reality, be careful who you befriend and never ever believe that coincidences are just coincidences.

Jessica's Review:

The writing duo that is Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen became an auto-buy for me the second I flipped the final page on their first book, THE WIFE BETWEEN US. I loved their debut, their follow up novel (AN ANONYMOUS GIRL), and it continues with book three. YOU ARE NOT ALONE is another fast-paced thriller that has short chapters that made it nearly impossible for me to put down. I don't know how they do it, but they delivered another psychological thriller that will keep you guessing until the end.

Like with their other books, it's so hard to write a review here without spoiling anything or accidentally giving away small details. So I'll stick to the bare minimum here. Shay is our main character, and one morning as she is waiting for the subway, she notices a woman standing dangerously close to the edge of the platform. Before she can do anything to help, the woman jumps in front of the oncoming train. Trying to combat her guilt, Shay finds her way to the memorial service that was held for the woman (Amanda), where she then meets the Moore sisters, Cassandra and Jane.

Let me tell you, these are two women unlike any you've met before. Once Shay is in their sights the cat and mouse game begins. The short chapters made it so hard for me to stop reading - my husband was loving that I just wanted to sit in the car as he went into the hardware shop. Take your time in there, I wanna see how this insanity ends! Multiple POV's, weaving in different timelines effortlessly, and enough suspense to keep you glued. Definitely some curve balls I wasn't expecting, and while it isn't my favorite of their books, I still enjoyed it from cover to cover in one day.

Basically, if you liked their previous books, then you need this on your TBR. If you like a good cat and mouse meets psychological thriller, then this needs to be on your TBR. Once again, the agonizing wait begins for their next book!
