What would you do to earn 'Easy Money'?

There's a new reality TV game show that pays contestants to hurt themselves. How much pain would you endure to make some quick cash? Would you shoot yourself with a nail gun for $10,000? There are plenty of contestants willing to go on live TV to make a quick buck. Would you watch the show? The ratings are looking good. 'Easy Money' becomes the most talked about show on television.

Follow Damon Dahmer, the executive producer, as he creates such a bizarre television show. Damon is not only making good television, he is also struggling with his own inner needs to watch people in pain. Slowly, Damon pushes boundaries to find what is acceptable and what is not. Throw in his own revenge vendetta, and Damon's personal pain show viewings, and you get the first book in the series of 'Deadly Reality TV'.

Is the real horror what people are doing to themselves? Or is it the man that Damon reveals himself to be? Maybe it's just scary that people are actually watching the show.

My Review:

If you desperately needed money, would you go on a reality tv series where you had to hurt yourself in some fashion in order to win some?  The challenges get progressively harder but hey, there's medical help for you should you need it and remember, pain only lasts a short time - this money could change your life!

This is one of those where I would absolutely watch a movie but if this were real life... well, could I stomach it? Would I assume it was just theatrics? How true would it be that people would be so engrossed in this horror show that it would absolutely do well with the masses?!  Honestly this world is going in an "interesting" direction so it's really hard to say how a show like this would actually perform.

Damon Dahmer (ha with the last name) is one sick son of a bitch and the lengths he goes to in order for this show to succeed is almost a tiny part compared to what he needs to do for his own self satisfaction.  While they're largely intertwined, he's quite the sick pup... and quite frankly, I'm here for all of it.  I don't know or care what kind of person that makes me but this is the type of read I totally get into.

Absolutely intrigued where this might go in book two: Pain For Gain.  Those who love movies like Would You Rather would definitely enjoy this creepy and sadistic novella.
