Beyond excited to be today's stop on the KILLED Blog Tour.  The finale in the Henning Juul series, this one makes me want to start from the beginning and binge read them all!

Thomas Enger is a new favorite author!

Publisher:  Orenda Books
Pages:  276 Pages

Series:  A Henning Juul Novel FINALE

THE BOOK:

SOMEONE HAS TO DIE...

Henning Juul sits in a boat on a dark lake.  A man with a gun sits opposite him.  At the man's feet is a body that will soon be dumped into the water.  Henning knows that the same fate awaits him.  And he knows that it's his own fault.  Who started the fire that killed Henning's young son?  How is his sister, Trine, involved?  Most importantly, who can be trusted?  Packed with tension and unexpected twists,
Killed is the long-awaited finale in the internationally renowned series featuring conflicted, disillusioned but always dogged crime reporter Henning Juul, and one of the most chilling, dark and moving crime thrillers you may ever read.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Thomas Enger (b. 1973) is a former journalist. He made his debut with the crime novel Burned (Skinndød) in 2009, which became an international sensation before publication. Burned is the first in a series of 5 books about the journalist Henning Juul, which delves into the depths of Oslo’s underbelly, skewering the corridors of dirty politics and nailing the fast-moving world of 24-hour news. Rights to the series have been sold to 26 countries to date. In 2013 Enger published his first book for young adults, a dark fantasy thriller called The Evil Legacy, for which he won the U-prize (best book Young Adult).  Enger also composes music, and he lives in Oslo.

MY REVIEW:

When I was given the opportunity to be on the Blog Tour for Killed, I was ECSTATIC!  Not only have I been wanting to read Enger for quite some time, but we all know Orenda Books puts out some fantastically tantalizing reads so WIN WIN!  **snoopy dance**

WHAT A RIDE.  Enger pretty much puts you right into the action and never lets up.  The prologue sucks you right in!  I love it when those first few pages just draw your attention and then the rest of the book never lets it go.  (Those people who say they never read prologues... what's wrong with you??)

We get a variety of perspectives throughout this novel but mostly we see Henning - and he's finally getting some answers.  The most important being what happened to his son.  The side stories are just as tantalizing.  We get the full gamut of characters.  The criminals are vicious, the family members are emotional and the police are trying to do their job.  The way the twists and turns come about and everything comes together at the end - this author has skills, y'all.    A bad ass Nordic Noir novel that has you rooting and yelling at the characters all at once.

You ever meet those people who read the end of the book before they even start it?  I almost felt like I did that by reading this finale in a series without reading the other books first.... so the only thing keeping me from giving this a full 5 stars is the fact that there are SO many characters and I think it would've had an ever bigger impact had I read the other books in the series.  Enger DOES provide a character list at the beginning though, which is EXTREMELY helpful!  I encourage everyone to read every book in this series, starting with book one.  Because if this ending is any indication, then it's definitely worth it!

Thank you so much to Orenda Books for this copy and spot on this tour. 💗
